Background

POWER Regional Collaborative participants agreed to a proposed structure that would enable the collaborative to function in an umbrella coordinating role and to pursue up to two specific issues that would add value to wind energy development in the region. One topic selected during the December 2003 meeting was to develop a regional renewable energy credit (REC) system. RECs will be referred to as tradable renewable certificates (TRCs) from here on.

Subcommittee Participants: Ron Rebenitsch, Bennett Brown, Brad Stevens, and Kevin Bryan

Concerns: Development of a vibrant market for TRCs in the region.

  • Definition of renewable energy
