Advisory Board
|
In order to fairly evaluate the Waffle® concept, the EERC has incorporated the advice of organizations and individuals who have experience and expertise in water management, water storage, flooding and drought issues, hydrology, and/or water modeling. As a result, two separate advisory boards, explained below, have been formed to provide objective advice and input to the Waffle® project team. The primary function of both boards is:
- To provide advice and expertise to enhance the Waffle® project outcomes.
- To make recommendations regarding new directives to be undertaken by the Waffle team.
- To serve as a working group, providing recommendations and reviewing novel ideas and strategies related to flood mitigation and basinwide water storage.
The Agency Advisory Board (AAB) consists of representatives from local, state, and federal agencies. The primary objective of the AAB is to advise and counsel EERC personnel regarding the activities of the Waffle® project as they relate to the evaluation of temporary basinwide water storage. The kickoff meeting for the AAB was held in October of 2002.
The Citizen's Advisory Board (CAB) consists of members of the local community and region, including farmers and landowners. The primary function of the Citizen's Advisory Board is to advise and counsel EERC personnel regarding landowner concerns and opinions about temporary water storage, drainage, flooding, and drought. The first meeting of the CAB was held in January of 2003.
