Environmental Control Technologies

The EERC is a world leader in clean air technologies to remove pollutants from coal-fired power plants and other industrial sources.

The EERC's innovative advanced hybrid particulate collector is being demonstrated for worldwide sales.

Atmospheric Emission Control
EnvironmentalControl

Atmospheric emission control of pollutants (SO2, NOx, and fine particulate matter) at power plants and other facilities is critical to maintaining a healthy level of air quality throughout the world. EERC atmospheric emission control research has led to retrofit acid gas and particulate removal technologies for existing energy facilities.

Carbon Dioxide
With growing concern over human impact on global climate change, CO2 emissions from fossil-fuel fired power plants and utilities are receiving increased scrutiny. The EERC is well positioned to address concerns on CO2 emissions with two cutting edge research programs. Both the Partnership for CO2 Capture (PCO2C) program and the Plains CO2 Reduction (PCOR) Partnership work to develop technologies and produce meaningful results that may be used in the industry to address CO2 emission control issues.

Mercury
The EERC is recognized worldwide for expertise in understanding mercury in air, soil, and water and for research to develop valid techniques for measuring mercury emissions from power plants.
