U.S. 2002 Major Land Resource Area Map

The U.S. 2002 Major Land Resource Area (MLRA) map is a polygon coverage of the land resource regions and MLRAs of the conterminous United States (http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/land/mlra/) and is available for the entire U.S. portion of the Plains CO2 Reduction study area. The MLRAs are subregions of the land resource regions and comprise smaller homogeneous areas. The scale of this coverage is 1:2,000,000 and was developed and characterized by the Natural Resources Conservation Service. It represents land resource regions characterized by a particular pattern of soils, climate, water resources, and land uses.
