CO₂ from a Power Plant into a Deep Oil Reservoir

CO₂ from a coal-fired power plant will be combined, compressed to supercritical and injected more than two miles down to a depleted oil reservoir to revitalize oil production and sequester CO₂. This long term commercial scale demonstration will show the efficacy of powerplant retrofitting for CO₂ capture as well as help determine the Best Practices for sequestration and use of CO₂ for enhanced oil recovery at depth.
