Dr. Alexander Azenkeng
Research ScientistDr. Alexander Azenkeng is a Research Scientist at the EERC, where he uses a computational modeling approach to diverse areas of research including NOx control, Hg control and its toxic effects, and CO2 capture and sequestration. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of North Dakota, and an M.S. and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Buea, Cameroon.
Dr. Azenkeng's principal areas of interest and expertise include the use of computational techniques to elucidate molecular structures and reaction mechanisms and predict molecular properties through performing quantum mechanical ab initio electronic structure and density functional theory (DFT) calculations; writing C language programs for Linux/Unix-based computers to perform specific computational modeling tasks; and preparation of thin solid film nanomaterials that could have potential catalytic, optoelectronic, and/or electronic applications via the pyrolytic metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) technique.
