Mr. Jay C. Almlie
Senior Research Manager

Jay C. Almlie is a Research Manager in Environmental Technologies at the EERC, where he is involved in mercury control with the advanced hybrid particulate collector, emission control for diesel systems, flue gas filter media enhancement research, and industrial-scale hydrogen generation systems. Mr. Almlie received his B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management from UND.

Mr. Almlie's principal areas of interest and expertise include particle capture in electrostatic precipitators, mercury control technologies, data acquisition and control systems, thermal control systems, and hydrogen generation systems.

Prior to his position at the EERC, Mr. Almlie worked at NASA as lead mechanical engineer on projects involving water systems for the international space station, potable water and waste and hygiene systems, and thermal control system upgrades for the space shuttle.

He has authored and coauthored several professional publications.
