Roy B. Beard is the Manager of Computer Systems at the EERC, where his responsibilities include development and management of a computer network system comprising a mixed environment of Windows 95, Windows NT, and Unix systems; technical development and management of wide area network (WAN), local area network (LAN), and Intranet/Internet resources; design, development, and management of World Wide Web resources; representing the EERC and UND in intercampus development of Internet II system partnership; development of data acquisition systems used for EERC projects; and management of the support team for the EERC help desk.

Mr. Beard=s principal areas of interest and expertise include design, technical development, and management of computer network systems; WAN, LAN, and Intranet/Internet resources; World Wide Web resources; and data acquisition systems.

Mr. Beard received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from UND. Prior to his current position at the EERC, Mr. Beard was Principal Engineer with the Unisys Corporation in Roseville, Minnesota, where he developed computer-automated test equipment and data acquisition systems. He also held the position of Senior Engineer with Raymond Kaiser Engineers in Oakland, California.
