Summit Addresses |
 |
The Honorable Byron Dorgan, U.S. Senate Senator
Byron Dorgan is a senior member of the Appropriations, Commerce, and Energy Committees. He also serves as Chairman of the Senate Indian
Affairs Committee and the Democratic Policy Committee and the Senate’s Subcommittee on Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security. Senator
Dorgan is a strong advocate of energy policy that will move our country aggressively toward the use of renewable energy and domestic energy
sources and away from our dangerous reliance on foreign oil. As Chairman of the Senate Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee, he has
worked to fund development of renewable energy sources like wind, solar, and biofuels.
|
 |
The Honorable Earl Pomeroy, U.S. House of Representatives
Congressman Earl Pomeroy is a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, where he is Chair of the Subcommittee on
Social Security and serves on the Subcommittees on Trade and on Health. He is a member of the Committee on Agriculture,
where he serves on the Subcommittees on Conservation, Credit, Energy, and Research and on General Farm Commodities and Risk
Management. Congressman Pomeroy believes North Dakota, with its large reserves of coal and oil and its potential to produce
significant amounts of energy from wind and biomass, can play a key role in achieving energy independence, and he has worked
for policies that promote development of America’s domestic energy industry.
