Ash Behavior and Mercury Control Short Course
This 2-day course was designed to assist personnel in the coal-fired utility industry to understand and manage ash-related problems and to identify mercury emission control strategies. Each day focused on separate topics.
Day 1: Ash Behavior
This course provided a practical overview of ash formation, slagging, and fouling behavior in coal-fired boilers to assist in understanding and managing ash-related problems.
Day 2: Mercury Control
This course provided an overview of recent advancements in mercury transformations, speciation, measurement, and control strategies. Participants gained up-to-date knowledge of developments related to measurement and control of mercury emissions from coal-fired boilers based on results obtained in laboratory-, pilot-, and full-scale testing.
