The Coal Ash Professionals Training Course, held April 19-21, 2006, at the Memphis Marriott Downtown in Memphis, Tennessee, was an intense crash course on coal ash. Attendees learned the fundamentals of the coal ash business, including characterization, management, and utilization. Other topics included the following:

•	How total power plant management relates to coal ash quality
•	Expert insight on ash characterization, environmental issues, and their relationship to ash management
•	How to maximize ash management options
•	Updates on the industry's latest Hot Topics
•	Tricks of the trade from utilities and marketers who successfully utilize coal ash

Participants attending the complete Coal Ash Professionals Training Course (including the plant tour), were eligible to receive 2.0 continuing education units (CEUs). Professional Engineers earned 15 professional development hours (PDHs).
