Traveling to Medora
Medora is nestled on the southern tip of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and is
easily accessible via Interstate 94 by car.
Air Transportation
| The nearest airport to Medora is the Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional
Airport, which is located only 43 miles to the east (about 50 minutes by
car). The Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport is served by Great
Lakes Airlines, which offers three round-trip flights to Denver, Colorado,
Sunday through Friday and two round-trip flights on Saturday. From there,
they offer connections all over the world through United Airlines and
Frontier Airlines. |

Western North Dakota is also served by the Bismarck Municipal Airport, which is about 135
miles to the east (about 2 hours by car). The Bismarck Municipal Airport, has daily nonstop
service to Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Las Vegas via Northwest Airlines (now a part
of Delta), United Airlines, and Allegiant Airlines.

Bismarck Municipal Airport to the Badlands Motel (2 hours)
- Head northwest toward ND-1804/University Drive
- Turn right at ND-1804/University Drive
- Turn left at Bismarck Expy/ND-810 heading west
- Continue to follow ND-810
- Continue on I-194 North (signs for I-94)
- Merge onto I-94 West (continue on for approx. 128 miles)
- Take Exit 27, toward Medora
- Merge onto I-94 Business
- Turn right at 5th Street
Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport (50 minutes)
- Head north on 112th Avenue Southwest toward 42nd Street Southwest
- Turn right at 41st Street Southwest
- Turn left at ND-22
- Turn left to merge onto I-94 West toward Billings, Montana (continue for
approx. 34 miles)
- Take Exit 27, toward Medora
- Merge onto I-94 Business
- Turn right at 5th Street
From the west, Billings, Montana (about 4 hours)
- Head east on I-94 (signs for I-94/Bismarck)
- Continue to the North Dakota border (272 miles)
- Take Exit 24, toward Medora
- Turn right at I-94 Business/Pacific Avenue (signs for Medora)
- Turn left at Main Street
