U.S. 2002 Major Land Resource Area Map

The U.S. 2002 Major Land Resource Area (MLRA) map is a polygon coverage of the land resource regions and MLRAs of the conterminous United States (http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/land/mlra/) and is available for the entire U.S. portion of the Plains CO₂ Reduction study area. The MLRAs are subregions of the land resource regions and comprise smaller homogeneous areas. The scale of this coverage is 1:2,000,000 and was developed and characterized by the Natural Resources Conservation Service. It represents land resource regions characterized by a particular pattern of soils, climate, water resources, and land uses.
