2009 PCOR Partnership Annual Meeting: Visit the Gateway to the West!


The Plains CO2 Reduction (PCOR) Partnership 2009 Annual Meeting and Workshops are scheduled for December 1–3, 2009, in St. Louis, Missouri. The annual meeting will provide an overview of carbon management topics, including carbon capture and storage (CCS), risk management, carbon markets, regulatory updates, and outreach strategies. The meeting will also provide summaries of the wrap-up of Phase II activities and current and upcoming activities for Phase III. The meeting will be structured to engage all partners in order to ensure the PCOR Partnership Program is providing the most value for your investment.

Workshops
This year’s meeting will feature two workshops on December 1, 2009, beginning at noon. A boxed lunch will be provided starting at 11:30 a.m. Workshops are offered free of charge to members. For nonmembers, the workshop fee is US$300 a workshop, US$500 for both.
  • Workshop 1: Effective Outreach and Communication – Best Practices and Real-World Experiences. CCS and geologic sequestration are major long-term commitments that involve plant add-ons, pipeline construction, injection well installation, facility operation and monitoring, and post-operation monitoring. Public acceptance is critical at every phase. Hear experiences and strategies to support the effectiveness of your outreach efforts. Presenters: Andy Goodman (invited), the Goodman Center, and Dan Daly, Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) Research Manager
  • Workshop 2: Carbon Management Strategies. This workshop will address advances in development of CCS technologies, environmental impacts, and value-added options, i.e., enhanced oil recovery operations. Presenters: John Harju, EERC Associate Director for Research, and Michael Jones, EERC Senior Research Advisor

Annual Meeting
The annual meeting, taking place December 2–3, 2009, will be structured to provide the maximum benefit to PCOR Partnership partners. This interactive meeting is a must-attend for individuals involved in any aspect of CCS and carbon management.
