Storing and Delivering Hydrogen
"Hydrogen on Demand"
The EERC, along with a variety of private sector partners, is producing hydrogen on demand from a variety of sources, including alcohols, petroleum liquid fuels, synthetic fuels, and military fuels such as JP-8. With this technology, the EERC is demonstrating a method for producing high-purity hydrogen at high pressure. The hydrogen is produced on-site, on demand, rather than at a separate location. This technology is currently moving toward commercial deployment. By utilizing this state-of-the-art process, the prohibitive costs of a new nationwide hydrogen production and distribution infrastructure will be dramatically decreased so that hydrogen refueling will be accessible and affordable.
