Basin Electric Power Cooperative is showcasing a pilot project using one renewable
energy resource to create another. The Wind to Hydrogen project is located
near Minot, North Dakota. The project uses electricity from wind generators to
power an electrolyzer, which is a commercial generator that separates the hydrogen
and oxygen contained in water. The EERC provided project support in the areas of
reporting, tracking the wind power, and hydrogen use demonstration.
