The EERC has developed a technology resulting in a reduction of feedstock cost of
up to $0.30/gallon when ethanol processing is integrated with hydrogen production
in an integrated facility.
The EERC has developed a technology that takes advantage of the ethanol-refining
process conditions to produce hydrogen at a lower cost than typical liquid reforming.
Activities are ongoing to evaluate a variety of operating conditions, primarily
pressure, to reduce the overall cost of hydrogen production.
