Workshop Coordinator: John Pavlish, Senior Research Advisor, Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), Grand Forks, North Dakota

9:00-11:00 a.m. Preconference Workshop 1: CO2 Capture and Separation
Presenters: Brandon Pavlish, EERC Research Manager, and Michael Jones, EERC Senior Research Advisor
This workshop will discuss the current status of CO2 capture technologies and the challenges and opportunities associated with their implementation. Technologies will focus on the three major capture platforms: postcombustion, precombustion, and oxygen-fired systems.

12:30-2:30 p.m. Preconference Workshop 2: CO2 Sequestration
Presenter: Ed Steadman, EERC Senior Research Advisor
This workshop will address advances in development of direct and indirect sequestration technologies, environmental impacts, and valueadded options, i.e., enhanced oil recovery (EOR) operations.

3:00-5:00 p.m. Preconference Workshop 3: Hg Measurement and Control
Presenters: John Pavlish, EERC Senior Research Advisor, and Dennis Laudal, EERC Senior Research Advisor
This workshop will discuss the challenges of mercury sampling, measurement, and control in combustion-derived flue gases. The mercury control technology options that will be addressed as part of this workshop include coal cleaning, sorbent injection, mercury oxidation upstream of wet and dry scrubbers, and novel technologies. Mercury measurement discussions will emphasize wet/dry methods and continuous mercury monitors.

6:30-8:30 p.m. Early Conference Registration Opens
